I started taking Milky Way pictures about 2 years ago; but, quickly learned that motion was an enemy. I wanted to increase my exposure time, but cut down on the streaking caused by earth motion, rotation, and what have you. I built a manually-operated Barn Door Tracker to assist. Here is a 2 minute image taken from the Bonneville Salt Flats on 26 November. (
